Karyotype
The karyotype is the arrangement of chromosomes into a chart as shown in Figure __.
Karyotyping possibly allows us to see any potential genetic disease out of
thousands that can be passed down to the
child.
In figure __ the chromosomes are arranged into 23 groups. That is a map
of the traits from the mother and the father. Fetal karyotyping is a low risk
producer that when done will allow doctors to know if there are any chromosome
defects present in the child
before it is born and help them regulate it back to normal.
In the figure to the left there are 24 pairs showing this is because the
X and Y chromosomes at the bottom right allow us to know the gender of the
child. The Chromosome with the short side is for a boy and the larger full
shaped x chromosome is for a Girl.
Overall, a karyotype is a chart as in figure __ that shows an arrangement
of chromosomes that is the offspring’s DNA. Using the karyotype a doctor could
see any defects and go back and reduce the chance for the defect. In addition it
also permits the us to know the Gender of the child.
